Rumors/Legends/Hearsay - 7th of Reaping - 1002 (Edgewater)
Highs in the 90 - 95 range with lows around 75. Wispy clouds during some days, but mostly clear.
1. Hobgoblins have established several forts in the east. They are threatening Kedane. Most of
the forts are along the coast but at least one is inland.
2. The strange archway is a gateway to hell! Foul beasts are entering from hell and they
will be the doom of West. The Prince should not have let the archway in the north be
completed.
3. Sailors are saying that the hurricane in the north is getting stronger. Big waves may be
encountered in the area of the hurricane. The MaryBeth claims to have almost capsized because
of the waves.
4. Many dead fish have been sighted floating on the surface of the water near the hurricane. The
fish have rotten and cannot be eaten.
5. Goblin scouts have been spotted in the nearby woods by lumbermen. GoblinX has been chasing
them out of the area.
6. Violent storm clouds cover the hobgoblin armies in the east. Lightning has been seen to
strike enemies of the hobgoblins.
7. Newest vein of iron has played out in the mine! The dwarves say to dig deeper and are in
consultation with the human miners to do just that.
8. Laborers have been moving into Edgewater to work on the road to Logsaw. Janis, a bard, has
come from West to assist by motivating the workers.
9. A giant lizard or alligator has been shadowing barges in the lake.
10. A foul beast is amongst the hobgoblin hordes. The beast is a giant hyena with two heads!
11. Captain Blake, from the Breezy Lady, has been arrested for trying to kill the Prince. During
an audience, he jumped at the Prince and tried to strangle him.
12. Goblins and Hobgoblin hordes are massing to attack Kedane. The attack could begin at
any time. There are hundreds of these creatures.
13. A demonic shrine to Nerull has been constructed at Arch point. Several priests have been
killed in Sparkle trying to kidnap people.
14. Tom Long Legs has been killed by goblins outside of Edgewater. Tom was part of GoblinX and
was chasing the goblins out of the area.
15. The Westerlies have calmed. The clouds have been building in the West and the sunsets
have been spectacular. Sailing in that area will be difficult.
16. The Syndicate has stolen the Sword called Justice. Gordon light-fingers claims to have taken
the sword from the NuNor Paladin.
17. The merchant ship Fat Thurston has been attacked by a green dragon near Kedane! After eating
half the crew and breaking the main mast, the beast flew off.
18. A riot has happened in the slave market in Kedane. Several slaves have escaped and many
people have been killed.
19. The Dark Council leads the newly formed Kingdom of Mumix in the southern area of Contopia. The
identities of the council members is not known but they are reputed to practice foul rituals
during meetings.
20. The hobgoblins are led by the Iron Wind. Iron Wind is a user of magic of great power and able
to bend the elements to his will. He commands the storm over his troops.
21. After having thunderstorms early in the summer, West has been hot and dry for the last month.
22. Devilmen have attacked several fishing boats outside of West. The navy has killed many
devilmen but that has not stopped them yet.
23. A giant hammerhead whale has been sighted to the north of Lycos! Several captains have set
sail to hunt this creature.
24. A giant spider has been chased out of Overton. Townspeople were able to drive the beast out
of the warehouses and out of town. The spider fled into the Martin wood.
25. Barge traffic has increased this summer from Edgewater to West. Several merchants from
Harris have stopped at Edgewater on their way to West.
26. West navy is recruiting marines to help patrol the waters of West.
27. The hobgoblin hordes are led into battle by a raving lunatic that plays organ music as the
troops mass for battle.
28. A huge fire has destroyed several warehouses in Leeward. The Musty Smell, a merchant ship,
was also caught in the fire and destroyed.
29. Pharlong is seeking adventurers to return to the Motaku Island and loot the golden temple. He
is in Hydyr currently. Pharlong claims to have found the temple, but his prior group was slain
as they approached it and he bearly escaped.
30. Nightshade, Raugmauda's ship, has sunk several long boats manned by skeletons north of Yoha's
Graveyard. The long boats attacked and boarded the Nightshade and were repelled.
